Charles J. Baird

Charles’ concentration of practice is Mineral and Environmental Law, Business Acquisitions, Leases, Real Property and Contract and Property Litigation. Charles is a graduate of Transylvania University where he received his B.A. degree in 1972. He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kentucky in 1975. Charles has served as Chairman of Coal Operators and Associates since 1987.  He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Community Trust Bancorp, Inc. since 1988. Charles was recipient of the 2005 Blue Grass Council Boy Scouts of America Pike County Distinguished Citizen Award and Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award, 2006. Charles also was a recipient of Pike County Chamber of Commerce Pike County Ambassador Award, 2005. He was a member of the Worker’s Compensation Board Nomination Commission, 1987-2008 and 2012-2016, Chairman 1996-2008; Charter Member of the A.B. Chandler Foundation; Chairman of the Board of Directors of the East Kentucky Exposition Center Corporation 1998-present. Charles is a member of Pike County, Kentucky and American Bar Associations.
